In part: “I never write papers in advance but wait to see how it turns out, and I am personally rather doubtful as to whether the symposium papers should be published together, as it seems to me that they were very different sorts and might do better in different contexts.” A response to Mead is written in pencil in the lower blank portion of the page. In fine condition, with some scattered light soiling.
